An exciting programme of speakers has been announced for the 2014 Conference and Gala 40th Anniversary Dinner, which will be held in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 November.

The opening address, which will be delivered by Eileen Salmon, the General Secretary of ACCS, will look at the development of adult education in community and comprehensive schools, and will examine some of the ways in which sustainability can be ensured.

Other speakers include Fiona Sneddon (ICS Skills), who will give an overview of the new ECDL; Michael Keating (The Self-Development University), who will speak about Mindfulness; and Deirdre O'Flynn (Spellcheck.ie), who will outline the benefits of LinkedIn for directors of adult education.  Mary Kelly will update on the Easy Payments Plus system.

Professor Brian Lacey, Professor of Finance at Trinity College Business School, is the guest speaker at the Gala Dinner, while Bernard Horgan, past NACED Chairman, and the organisation's current chairman, Robbie Harrold, will deliver after-dinner speeches.

Thursday's workshop aims to help new community and comprehensive schools to set up adult education programmes.
